Brainstorming Product Ideas
Many people when they begin their online business get stumped on a crucial part of marketing, the products. A lot of people get discouraged when trying to find new, innovative products or believe they could never make a product that will sell. The process of finding and inventing products doesn’t have to be as hard as most believe it to be.
The aim of any product you make or sell is to help people solve a problem, any problem. This doesn’t mean your product has to be ground breaking. As long as that product helps someone solve a problem then the odds are it’s going to sell. If you stop trying so hard to think of the most creative and “out there” product you may find the answer right in front of you, try looking closer to home. Analyze your own life or business and think of some obstacles you face and how to solve them.
Construct a list of these obstacles and think of something to solve each one. When narrowing down your choices start by eliminating the ones that can be fixed too easily. Now with the ones you have left, the chances are that if you can’t think of a product that solves them then a lot of other people probably don’t know about that it either.
Now you’ve got a list of ideas to work with, sure you’re not the first person to think of it but more then one person can make money off the same idea. For example, think of how many different brands of toothpaste there are. All of them do more or less the same thing yet many different companies still make money off the same product.
Once you’ve decided on a product don’t worry about whether or not it’s already out there. If you don’t know of a similar product then there’s other people out there in the same boat. Not every product is going to be a hit but getting some ideas out there is a lot better then watching time dwindle away while your still stuck thinking of where to start.
Start developing your ideas instead of wasting time stuck in the thinking process. Not every product is guaranteed to be successful but you’ve got more of a chance by trying then second guessing constantly and getting no where. Trial and error may not be the most thorough method for monetary gain but it has worked for a majority of people. Don’t put so much emphasis on being completely unique. You may have the same product as someone else but every product has unique elements to it.
